Live Through Him

Live Through Him

1 John 4:9 (KJV) In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

I hope you understand that eternal life is manifested through the finished spiritual work of God.  Eternal life is never made possible through Your work or mine.  The reality is that no person can stand on his own two feet.  Left to ourself, a man will always fall flat on his face as he chooses to move away from God.

It is true; no human can stand on his or her merit, but he or she can rise in accepting God by agreeing with His spiritual message and finished work.  That said, a person does not have to take a bath to come to the cross.  God cleans each of us up with His Word as Christ wills and works inside you and i.  God accepts us just as we are, but expects us to become different in His power and presence.  We serve a risen Savior who gives us an eternal position and works to perfect us day by day.

Just like a butterfly eventually rises from out of a cocoon, every sincere child of God puts on His mercy and grace, setting aside his or her natural filth and spiritually matures as he or she sojourns in this wicked world.

The devil is limited; God is unlimited.  God accepts us right where we are, cloaks us in His unlimited mercy and grace, and allows us to live forever through Him.  This new life includes living for Him in this world and remaining alive all eternity inside sweet spiritual fellowship with Him.
