Galatians 5:1 (KJV) Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
God sent His Only Son to die on Calvary to wipe every person’s sin debt from sin clean. Once a soul chooses to place faith in the cross’s finished work, he has the freedom from sin and bondage, ultimately to stand in spiritual agreement with God and to fulfill His will in their life.
However, a spiritually regenerated soul who fails to stand in his freedom from Christ and again begins to serve sin rather than serving God will naturally find it more palatable to gravitate towards corruption more and more. Yes, choosing to sin is a slippery slope. The truth is that Jesus Christ paid the debt of sin in full over two thousand years ago. If a regenerated soul returns to sin repeatedly, there is no remaining sacrifice for his callous choice to sin; read Hebrews 10:26 for more on this kind of predicament.
True biblical-based freedom requires yielding to God daily, even minute by minute. This yielding is anticipated by God and brings unfettered spiritual joy and maturity for every sincere child of God. On the other hand, for a soul to sin repeatedly after accepting Christ as Savior is like trying to place Him back on the cross for more sin relief, a cruel and unrealistic offense to God.
