Make Known To their Children
Psalm 78:5-8 (KJV) For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children: That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children: That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments: And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God.
God’s Word gives parents the best direction in raising offspring. Parents, especially fathers, have an enormous role in the proper rearing of their children. High up on the importance scale is making known the love and grace of God so that each child can pursue a personal relationship with Christ.
Sadly, many parents, often little more than kids themselves, have fallen far from God’s expectations and decrees concerning raising their children knowing about Christ. Someone once said that this world is one generation away from not knowing things of God. This statement is true; this world is close to an age that no longer is told about Christ as it spiritually stands this day.
Parents must share the gospel message with their children, testifying about how God works in their lives. That young folk know and recognize the importance of placing faith in personally knowing Jesus Christ and, in turn, will have hope concerning their tomorrows.
