Mankind Naturally Likes to Murmur and Complain
Do all things without murmurings and disputings: (Philippians 2:14 KJV)
Moses faced murmuring and complaining from the Israelites as he led them towards the promised land. God had provided for their every need but they were never satisfied with His good providence. They moaned and complained about wanting the melons, leeks, and cucumbers they left behind in Egypt.
You and I do the same thing. We look to this day and to that of our immediate future through the “rose colored lens” of our past. Sometimes we choose to focus upon “good” things we left behind in our past, rather than seeing the great eternal providence God has already placed in our future as we fellowship with Him.
The Israelites relished remnants of their sinful past.
How often might you desire just one more cigarette, or one bottle of beer, or a roll of the dice, at the casino. In the midst of trials and tribulations we often choose to cling to fleshly palatable things of our past rather than acclimate towards the multitude of blessing God has in store for us in our future together with Him.
God desires that the regenerated man, and collectively His church, be united together in His holy mindset yearning to possess that which He has for them according to His will without sorrow, quarrel, or dispute.
