Many Err Today
Matthew 22:29 (KJB) Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
This scripture verse reveals the answer Jesus Christ gives to a group of Sadducees who did not believe in the resurrection. These Jewish men were questioning the validity of the resurrection, along with the potential of angels and miracles. Though we can review their questions and concerns starting in verse twenty-three, the most critical focus must be upon verse twenty-nine.
Why must we be concerned with this verse above? Because Jesus Christ points to the error of not knowing scripture. You see, if these men had considered what God had already revealed, they would not have been confused and erred. Humanity faces the same blunder today when he or she does not know and apply the truths of God concerning every aspect of what He has revealed to us, whether it concerns His resurrection or other gospel truth.
Don’t err when it comes to God, but be eternally confident!
The spiritual bottom line is that a person greatly errs when he is not heart familiar with the teachings of God revealed for our learning and application in His Word. Each sincere professing child of God desires to be mature both in the Words and will of God.
