Many Gates but One Narrow Gate
Matthew 7:13-14 (KJB) Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
In ancient biblical times, there were many gates surrounding a city. These gates had individual purposes from taking out the trash to welcoming guests inside the city, to attending a worship service. A person would enter or exit a specific gate depending upon his purpose.
There was only one way, or gate opening, to enter the worship service held in the temple of God. A person could not enter by any other gate than this one designed specifically with an opening of leading into the worship area.
There are many beaten down pathways in this world that do not lead to God but there is always just one narrow way available to all mankind (1 Timothy 2:4) made possible through the finished work of Calvary.
Likewise, a person cannot enter into a personal relationship with God by just any corridor. A man must follow the specific pathway outlaid in His Word made available through the finished work of Calvary and God’s supernatural fuel of grace (Ephesians 2:8-10).
