Isaiah 32:5-8 (KJB) The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said to be bountiful. 6 For the vile person will speak villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail. 7 The instruments also of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right. 8 But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal villainy shall he stand.
A person can pick and choose words from these above scripture verses and easily skew the intended ancient meaning. For instance, words liberal, vile, villany, hypocrisy, churl, and bountiful could lead a spiritually misinformed person to comprehend a far different meaning and context of this teaching far different than God ever intended.
First, the context of this scripture points to a time in the future. It does not apply to a time in history. Nor is it be intended to represent the times in which we live today. This scripture describes a time yet to come. Therefore, none of these words and thoughts can successfully be applied to a time in history, yesterday, or today.
Yes, the teaching of this verse applies to Jesus Christ’s coming millennial reign. When correctly used, this scripture teaches about a future time of lawlessness and utter disregard for things of God, which is substantially worse than it is already this day in which we live.
