Modern Beliefs Whittle Away at This Verse
John 3:16 (KJB) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
This scripture verse is the backbone of possessing a personal belief in Christ. It is a spiritual powerhouse, a gift, encompassing the message contained throughout the entire canon of scripture.
However, sadly, modern preachers whittle away at God’s everlasting nature recorded in this verse. Rather than teach their followers about the entire character of God, many fall short by preaching a one-sided gospel message. One that is built entirely upon God’s love and fail to include awareness about His grace and mercy, for in doing so, then one must admit the personal presence of sin and guilt.
See, a person cannot approach God like a buffet by taking only those things that they think they have an appetite for and leave that which they have no taste for digesting. God is an all or nothing God. If a person devours His love, then he or she also has an appetite for His judgment and mercy, He includes it all in His salvation package.
God’s love is out of this world. However, each regenerated soul must be familiar with the whole character of God, which includes unlimited love, mercy, and grace.
