More Noble

Acts 17:11 (KJB) These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

These believers, as mentioned above, were likely Jewish, and were spiritually accomplished or noble.  They were viewed as more upright than some of their counterparts in Thessalonica Church.

Why?  This verse gives us two reasons:

Their mind was ready.

They searched the scriptures each day.

Indeed, you understand that not every professing Christian who occupies a pew in a church has arrived at the same stage spiritually speaking.  Some individuals study and prepare daily for serving and savoring God.  Others contemplate things of God and study on occasion, some are young and spiritually immature, and yet others who are lackluster Christians rarely choose to crack open their Bible.

Only you and God know where you are standing spiritually speaking.  Some hearts digest truths of God and are ready and willing to serve Him in any circumstance.  Others lack spiritual wisdom because they choose not to pursue God with vigor.  Others, like Eve in the Old Testament, are both unlearned and unprepared for the role God has placed before them.

Do you eagerly receive truths of scripture and place them in your softened heart (Psalm 119:11) to avoid the numerous spiritual landmines laid by the devil?  Are you lacking necessary wisdom and spiritual armor given of God to noble hearts sojourning in this wicked world?
