Mourning Death is Natural
Genesis 23:2 (KJB) And Sarah died in Kirjath-arba; the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan: and Abraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her.
Mourning is a natural process of death. Sadness and weeping are an expected response to the death of a friend or loved one. Grieving is different for each person and it simply takes time and encouragement for restoration and healing for a heart that is heavy. Healing hearts does not mean having a heart that forgets a person lived, but simply means they learn to live with peace in their absence.
Jesus wept for His friend Lazarus and Abraham wept at the death of his wife Sarah. There are many examples of death and grieving in the Bible for us to draw comfort from.
Jesus weeping over the death of His friend Lazarus is an example of the softened heart of God touched with sadness and grieving just as we are. This should encourage and comfort us as we face sadness and difficulties in grieving for another who is special to our heart.
