My Helpers in Jesus Christ
Romans 16:3-4 (KJB) Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus: 4 Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles.
Paul affectionately referred to this couple, Priscilla and Aquila among many other assorted greetings, in the concluding remarks in his letter to the Roman Church.
Why does this greeting stand out?
There were many greetings included in these scripture verses to various women who served God in their local church. There were also greetings given to local men who had likely served alongside and helped Paul personally during his visit.
However, Priscilla and Aquila were a man and wife ministry team who shared with Paul in the same skills of serving God and in making tents. Not only did they “hit it off with Paul” in serving God, but they worked together in their chosen “day to day’ occupation.
This was a ministering couple who often journeyed with Paul throughout the region visiting churches, meeting others serving God, and joined together in making tents.
Perhaps God has given you and your spouse skills that can be melded together and used for His glory in a ministry with others as you sojourn on this earth.
Yes, Paul traveled throughout the region teaching and preaching about God, he ultimately relied upon God in meeting his needs while serving others using his tent-making skills as he sojourned in this world.
