My Sheep Heed and Follow
John 10:27 (KJB) My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
There really is no room for doubt or lagging in the mind and heart of those who are God’s sheep. This short verse succinctly says it all: “My sheep hear my voice…” and “they follow me…”
Living a godly life is just that simple, yet so spiritually complex!
God inspired this short verse to define His sheep. They are obvious because they willingly do two things, as noted in this verse, they listen and follow Him. God’s sincere sheep do not have to be collared into following Him or begged to listen to what His Word says. God’s sheep are eager and willing to pay attention to Him and stick close!
Notice what things this verse does not say about God’s children: They often choose to ignore Him and desire to go through life according to their own direction. Or they choose to listen to Him when they like what they hear and take direction from Him from time to time when they feel like it. Often, what a verse does not say also speaks loudly!
