No Bats in The Belfry
2 Timothy 1:7 (KJB) For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
God has manifested His divine power and presence on-board the heart of every sincere child of God. His or her heart condition and mindset is alive and ready to face any circumstance or situation in this wicked world. Not in the weakness of mankind, but with the power and presence of God at work in their life.
Perhaps the minds of those darkened and shuttered tight from knowing God perceive a genuine professing child of God as being crazy, or anotherwards as having “bats in their belfry.” It is true that things of God do seem silly to those who do not personally know God and have a personal spiritual relationship with Hum.
Having bats in the belfry was used to describe when a person entertained foolish, unrealistic, or hideous thoughts. Though it comes from bats flying about in the belfry of a church as bats were commonly found to live in old churches, using this phrase points to a person having crazy ideas or a mindset that is considered odd from that which is acceptable in this world.
You can be sure that God has given His spiritual family a sound mind, quickened alive heart, and no fear of things in this world. To those who have darkened minds and hearts, things of God may seem frivolous and foolish, but the truth is their minds are filled to overflowing with things of God, not bats!
