Revelation 3:8 (KJB) I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
Most of us would agree that we choose to lock the doors of our home or business each night. Why, as a matter of our safety and because we do not cherish the thought of a stranger entering our abode unannounced or rifling through our things in our absence. Individuals with a criminal nature, walking inside an open a door of a home or business is a tempting proposition, often one they cannot resist.
Yes, many choose to keep the door of their home shuttered and locked. There is no law against keeping our door closed and protected as long as we abide by the authority of the police in an attempt to make contact with us concerning civil matters.
God leaves His door wide open.
Not only that, but no man can shut God’s whosoever door.
Not even a contrary wind will Slam God’s door shut.
You see, it does not matter to God our sin, our past, or current sinful intentions at work in our mind and heart, the only thing that is important to God is that we choose to heed his voice. To follow His direction by walking into His wide-open threshold and thus entering into His open door.
You see, any person in any circumstance of life can choose to walk inside God’s foyer. His door remains wide open until the coming day that He shuts it forever. The entranceway to a lost heart can be closed by any person who desires to avoid the presence of God; such as alcoholics, child molesters, sodomites, perverts, liars, murderers, or any sinners who cherish their “brand “ of sin by choosing to align with the god of this world, rather than personally meeting with God at His threshold and electing to agree with Him about the nature of sin and death.
God allows every person who wishes to enter into His abode an open door leading to sweet spiritual agreement with Him.
God allows any person who desires to ignore His presence and power to slam the door of their heart in opposition to Him the opportunity to do just that.
Just like the door of the ark, God’s door to eternal life will remain wide open until the time God desires to shut it and cut off the time of repentance and regeneration. Any person is welcome to enter into God’s “whosoever will come” door God does not exclude anyone or slam His door shut to any state of the heart. However, one day soon God will close His door, and it will be too late for anyone to enter the only one leading to eternal life.
