No Such Thing as Amending God’s Law
Psalm 19:7-8 (KJB) The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. 8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
Anyone who follows politics, both at the national and local level, understand that the laws currently on the books can be dropped or amended by popular vote or by applying other applicable legislative acts. Changes are made to existing laws according to the heat of a charged political atmosphere and at times with the needs of its residents and citizens in mind. Other times laws are changed or rescinded with only politically charged motives in mind despite the real needs of the people.
God’s Law operates nothing like this. His law is the ultimate eternal rule. It is never necessary or possible to change any commandments within His law because it is both divine and supernatural in nature. God’s law is never in need any adjustment or modification because it is never made subject to time and chance. God’s law was founded upon a solid eternal structure from the beginning and capitulates, or bends or sways with the dark and contrary winds at work in this world.
