Not A Mental Health Crisis
Luke 8:35-36 (KJB) Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid. 36 They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed.
Ill mental health and the spiritual condition of the heart are, without any doubt, inexplicably tied together. Don’t believe me? Read accounts inspired and recorded in God’s Word concerning this and see for yourself.
Sadly, this world often solely relies on medicine and other societal based treatment campaigns to fix what is a mental malady inherently linked to one’s spiritual state of the heart. It is true; poor spiritual health equates to a poor mental state of the heart and adversely affects self and others.
If you take the time to read the entire biblical account recorded about this man from the Gadarene’s located in the eighth chapter of Luke, you will see upon meeting this man that he is mentally unstable, unclothed, and living like a wild child among the tombs. However, when the account ends, you will see for yourself the abrupt and essential positive changes that took place in his life upon meeting Jesus Christ.
These beneficial changes did not come about through popping pills, counseling, positivity, or other conventional approaches offered. Indeed, you can agree that the state of mental health is not a crisis then or today, but not personally knowing Jesus Christ is the real calamity, a spiritual tragedy at work in this dark world.
This man’s demeanor is found to be quite different after one personal meeting with Jesus Christ. After his encounter, he is cured of his spiritual ills, in his right mind, clothed, and both spiritually and physically healed. You see, the condition of many souls are spiritually toxic and in need of meeting Jesus Christ personally.
