Not Even Their Clothes Were Burnt
Daniel 3:26-27 (KJB) Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, came forth of the midst of the fire. 27 And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king’s counsellers, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.
These men; Shadrach, Meshac, and Abed-nego, using human wisdom, should have been burnt to a crisp in this hot fire. However, God preserved them and even their clothes from being burnt. It defies logical thinking in knowing that these men were placed in the middle of a furnace with a huge fire and were not touched by any heat or flames. Beyond that, they had not even one hair singed nor were their clothes scorched.
This revelation defies human logic. It begs us to find a plausible answer for this result. Why, because we have seen with our own eyes the sudden imminent destruction that a fire can cause. How the flames lap hungrily against any burnable or combustible material and threaten to consume them. Knowing this is a fact, how can logic be used to explain how these three men escaped injury and death being thrown into this fiery furnace.
The supernatural presence of God is the only credible account in understanding the outcome of this event. In fact, the Bible even tells us that four men were clearly seen inside this oven. Clearly, God had his hand in the protection and preservation of these men for they received no harm whatsoever in this potentially deadly situation.
