Not My Will

Not My Will

Luke 22:42 (KJB) Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

Jesus rested peacefully inside the will of God.  He did not choose to recite a litany of wishes and personal requests before God.  His prayer was to fulfill the will of God at whatever personal cost.  Did you get that, despite the cost, He would incur in following the will of God?

Often, we like to follow the will of God when it is convenient for us.  When it does not require too much of our time or effort.  However, when it requires what we consider to be too much, we back away slowly and go in our own direction away from serving God.

How often do you ask God for what you desire rather than for the strength and power to bring about what He desires in your life for bringing Him glory and honor?
