Nothing But Jesus Christ
1 Corinthians 2:1-2 (KJB) And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. 2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
The Apostle Paul sets himself in proper spiritual standing into the background of life.
Why, because God always deserves front and center stage for without His presence and power a man would be nothing an could do nothing in this world.
The Apostle Paul recognized his worth and value was empty without the working of God in his life and that all things point to His Creator and Maker and not to himself. A surrendered life is all about Jesus Christ and nothing about self. The pages of scripture direct our attention to this critical truth again and again.
No passage declares this message more elegantly than John 3:30 (KJB) He must increase, but I must decrease. It is straight, simple, and to the point on this subject.
If we genuinely desire to serve and savor God, then we need to stop thinking of our selves and choose to fade into the background of life in this me, myself, and I world so that the power and presence of God can shine in the cracks and fissures apparent in our life.
