Obedience Without Hesitation
Matthew 21:6 (KJB) And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them.
This short and succinct scripture verse is speaking of the willing obedience of Jesus Christ’s twelve disciples. Jesus told them to go and to do. They did not hesitate, stop, or sit down. Or choose to go where and when they desired, ignoring the specific commands given to them like Jonah did, when hearing God’s plan for his life.
The chosen disciples elected to do exactly what Jesus said and as soon as Jesus told them to do it.
Can the same be said of you and me, for we too are disciples of Christ?
Perhaps we were not hand-picked by Jesus as were the original gang of twelve, but as saved individuals, we are certainly also considered to be His disciples, who are to have an inner desire welling up in our heart to follow His commands and precepts in our life.
In fact, the greatest biblical example of obedience is the willingness of Jesus Christ to accept the will of God The Father upon His life. Jesus Christ was obedient unto His sacrificial death for the sin of all mankind.
I bet your life is a lot like mine and there is much room for improvement in the obedience department. Take heart, and step out on a cloud of faith for Jesus Christ not only desires for us to be obedient to His will for our life but He is willing to assist us along in the journey.
