Observing the Minute Details of God’s Law
Galatians 4:10 (KJB) Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.
Paul was remarking to strict Jewish believers about their incessant return to bondage by attempting to satisfy the law of God themselves, rather than simply serving Him in through faith and spiritual freedom according to His supernatural power which is divinely free from the confines of the law.
These Jews were so busy being caught up in the many minuscule details of the law that they could not possibly be a successful and humble servant producing a bountiful harvest of fruit for God.
The truth is if a man breaks one law he breaks the whole law of God (James 2:10). Observing the tiniest details and attempting to satisfy the law according to their own flawed perception, rather than God’s perfect estimation, causes a man to be restrained and spin his wheels in things of God. Only when a man can serve God inside God’s presence and power, rather than in his own weakness, does real spiritual freedom exist and point to the holiness and righteousness of God for giving Him all the glory and honor.
