On the Straight and Narrow
Matthew 7:14 (KJB) Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
It is true, the road most traveled in this world is an open highway leading to certain physical and spiritual death. It is the pathway of least resistance, the most inviting as it calls to the flesh, and is littered with emotions and feelings, and ignores the reality of the Truth of God. The road most traveled by society is where you can be the life of the party and strut down the open street any which way you please.
On the other hand, as this verse affirms, the single lane way leading unto God and eternal life is naturally straight and narrow. Popular and palatable things in this world are not welcome on this avenue. In fact, nothing of this world can follow this pathway and enter eternal communion with God.
A personal relationship with God has naturally separated away hearts who mingle with things of this world. A child of God who has a spiritual connection with Him seeks to be divided away from wicked works of this world and to walk along His narrow way.
