One Tabernacle

One Tabernacle

Exodus 36:13 (KJV) And he made fifty taches of gold, and coupled the curtains one unto another with the taches: so it became one tabernacle.

This verse is one of many in describing the linen curtains for the tabernacle.  It is essential to note the inference towards the end of this verse to it being one tabernacle.  This same phrasing is used in describing unity in marriage in Genesis 2:24 in becoming one flesh.

This unity is a plurality, or of the combining of two things, into one.  A person can better understand God’s relationship with His Son Jesus Christ and His spirit, with each an individual part of God’s trinity, yet also unified into one.  These tabernacle curtains are a symbol of unbroken unity.

The word used in signifying single, Echad, and the word pointing to plurality, Elohim, are used in passages to indicate one and plural according to a verse’s context.

Though we do not use the original languages today as the Bible is written in ancient times, looking at it is often helpful for understanding the context of a word, a verse, clarifying God’s message, and applying it to our life.
