Hebrews 9:27-28 (KJB) And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: 28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
Our life in this world moves quickly. It has been compared to wispy things including the wind, grass, smoke, or vapor. It is here now, and in the next moment life as we know it today, can be gone.
Yes, your days alive on this earth are numbered for your certain physical death is waiting perhaps around the next corner.
Maybe you have thought about death in general.
You have even thought about the coming time of your death.
Maybe you have even purchased a burial plot and a grave monument designed and standing ready to have your date of physical death engraved upon it. Perhaps your granite marker is already placed on your future grave site just waiting for the end of your physical life to come sometime in the future.
But, have you thought about the next moment coming on the horizon just beyond physical death? That there is undoubtedly an eternal existence for every soul, whether they are spiritually saved or lost? Yes, certainly there is an eternal existence for every soul. Departure upon physical death for every saved person is sure, just as an eternal existence for every lost soul is inevitable. Yes, a presence in the eternal realm is waiting for every soul, whether they are saved or lost with each having a particular eternal address either being in heaven with God or found in hell apart from God.
You can be confident that a place in Heaven is waiting for every regenerated soul just as eternal judgment and an endless existence in Hell are reserved for every lost soul.
There will be no such thing as an ethical and moral sinner arriving in eternity upon his or her physical death in fellowship with God. You can be sure that only souls covered in the blood of Jesus Christ can fellowship with God forever while spiritually lost and naked souls are judged by God and denied communion with God forever.
Upon physical death, which can come at any time, every soul will undoubtedly reside in eternity. Only the covering or presence of the blood of Christ can save a soul while every lost soul will stand condemned before God without the covering of His precious blood and be tossed into Hell forever.
