Out of Fellowship with God
Genesis 3:8 (KJB) And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
This day was different.
God was walking in the garden alone. He was there, but they were no longer walking with Him.
Adam and Eve ordinarily walked in sweet fellowship with God. However, they were nowhere to be found this morning. God called for them, but they did not appear before Him or give an answer. They found themselves to be naked and attempted to hide from God amid the trees, but He could not be fooled.
God already knew the personal spiritual relationship between He and them had drastically changed for
He is all-knowing and ever-present.
Hiding anything from God is impossible.
Ignoring God is impossible.
It is impossible to entertain sin and walk hand in hand with God.
The presence of sin separated Adam and Eve away from fellowship with God. However, God cannot be disregarded forever and made His presence known to them, leading them to a critical time of embarrassment and apprehension. However, God covered their nakedness with leaves and provided a shed blood sacrifice to cover the presence of sin.
Sin always causes a disconnect between a man and his relationship with God. If this natural separation is not restored by God before his physical death, a man cannot ever be filled with God’s presence or enjoy fellowship with Him for all eternity.
