Outcome Of Wickedness
Psalm 9:15-17 (KJV) The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken. The LORD is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah. The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.
I think it is sad that commonly used grammar correcting software flags so many things in the Word of God, including many “mistakes” in these critical verses above. First, I hope you understand that His Word is recorded and preserved just as God wants it to be maintained. Second, no person, software, or group should desire to change anything about the Bible, though such disgraceful acts often happen today. These verses above read just as God wants them to read, contextually for ancient times, and with applications for us today.
David gives us vital details about wicked souls that are spiritually lost. Yes, corrupt souls fall into the mess of their making. Here, above, David is inspired by God to call this spiritual mess a pit, and where lost souls fall and are judged by God for their choices. If you ever fall into such a hole, you know that escape is either impossible or near impossible without assistance. Or in other words, it is nothing you can do alone; it takes power and the presence of God.
God sent a helper to lift lost souls from the confines of such a pit. First, we must recognize that such an outcome is the direct result of one’s bad choices, and there is nobody to blame but one’s sinning self. Sin is personal, involving one person and collective, causing entire nations to be spiritually lost and without fellowship with God.
You have a choice; you can remain spiritually lost in a pit of sin. Or you can come to God, recognizing your sin and allowing Him to lift you from the hole leading to hell, or be judged by God for unconfessed sin, which happens to all who remain wicked and lost in the heart.
