Perfection Through Obedience

Perfection Through Obedience

Hebrews 5:8-9 (KJB) Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; 9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him.

These verses from the book of Hebrews present a compelling look at both obedience and perfection.  Once a soul is spiritually regenerated does not mean that he or she jumps out of the gate vigorously serving God.  The reality of the situation is quite the opposite, indeed.  Obedience to God comes as an individual grows and strengthens spiritually.

Just like a newborn baby cannot walk, a child of God must take baby steps and increase his or her faith and obedience to God as he progresses in his walk. Indeed, you understand that no professing Christian is perfect, but being perfected and submissive to God as he sojourns on this earth.

The splendid perfection of every sincere professing child of God takes place once he arrives in eternity.  While he is alive on this earth, he enjoys a regenerated spiritual position with God but grows and matures spiritually speaking day by day in his walk with God.
