Luke 21:25-28 (KJB) And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. 27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
The Bible tells us that there will be some noticeable events preceding Christ’s return. This was recorded for our notice and learning that certain signs in the sun, moon, and stars, nations in distress, the waves and seas roaring, mankind with a fearful heart, and soon the Son of man coming.
Though we cannot discern the exact timing of God in this matter, for He is not boxed in by time as we know it, we can see these signs already at work in this world. Not only are they present but seem to be increasing in intensity. All these things point to the inevitability of Christ’s return to this earth.
Knowing this does not allow a man to sit and stare at the sky but should urge him to be prepared for Christ’s return. If a man is ready, then at the moment of God’s choosing he will look up and be redeemed entering into sweet fellowship with God forever. However, a person who ignores God and does not prepare will be caught off guard and shaken.
