Press On To The Finish Line
Philippians 3:13 (KJV) Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
God calls regenerated souls to continue moving forward with Him as they sojourn in this world. He does not call any person to slam their life into reverse, overwhelmed with worries of yesterday. Or to slam their life into overdrive and work in the unknowns of tomorrow. No, God calls each of us to reach toward the finish line inside the power and presence He gives us.
In this verse, the Apostle Paul sees his personal responsibility towards God. Paul knows he is to continue, press on, endure, remain, and keep on, rolling forward with God, having an eternal purpose in the work that God has given him, despite the circumstances at work about him.
Yes, the Apostle Paul understood that his life on this earth is a ministry given by God. In other words, God expected Paul to move forward, never look back, or worry about tomorrow, for God had a plan and purpose for his life as he sojourns in this world, and absolute perfection awaited Paul in eternity.
