Prophecies and Prophets
Deuteronomy 18:15-20 (KJV) The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not. And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken. I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
These verses of scripture are prophetic, pointing to the coming of Jesus Christ as both a King and Prophet. This scripture is validated in the New Testament in the book of Acts. The Apostle Peter pointed to this Old Testament sacred scripture, some of the best prophetic verses in the Old Testament, as fulfilled by Jesus Christ.
Please take note in these verses God said He would put the words in the prophet’s mouth. Yes, the very words of Jesus Christ inspired by God are given for humanity here. God sent His Only Son with a message for Israel in ancient times, and this salvation message for lost souls remains the same today.
Also included is a warning for Israel (and us) about not listening to what God has to say. Stiff necks and closed ears constitute a significant issue for lost-hearted souls. Any person can refuse to hear and do what God says spoken through His Son; however, doing so always has eternal ramifications. Each of us would do good to hear and apply this timeless message spoken by Jesus Christ in ancient times, still relevant today.
This ancient scripture prophesies about Jesus Christ. Today, we know that He did come to this earth, shed his precious blood following the will of His Father, God. We also know that Jesus Christ will return here one day soon. I hope you chose to take His timeless message to heart and apply it to your life.
