Prophecy About Perilous Times
2 Timothy 3:1-5 (KJB) This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
Each of us must ask ourselves an important question concerning prophecy revealed in these scriptures above. Are we living amid this perilousness right now? Or is it speaking of a time to come in the future?
Read and contemplate upon each of these descriptive words given by God:
Self-love, covetous, boasters proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despise good, traitors, heady, high minded, love pleasure more than God, with many claiming to know God.
If you are like me, you can find an illustration at work in this world for each characterization included in these five verses of scripture. So, again, ask yourself, are these verses pointing to a window to the state of the future? Or calling out the circumstances at work in our world this day?
