Prosperity Or Poverty
Proverbs 10:16 (KJV) The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.
This scripture verse contrasts righteous living against wicked living—each lie at opposing ends of the spiritual spectrum. A man cannot choose to serve wickedness on this earth and be a beacon of life. Sin always represents darkness and death.
Righteous living approved by God brings lasting life. Not only life on this earth, but godly living brings eternal life. A person who pleases God will never taste death. He will live on this earth and in fellowship with God forever in eternity.
In the opposing vein, a person attracted to a corrupt life will physically die on this earth and face an eternal presence forever apart from God. A choice of evil living leads to earthly poverty and endless deprivation forever.
Each of us can enjoy prosperity in the here and now and enjoy fellowship with God forever. However, aligning with the evil at work in this world only leads to perpetual spiritual poorness apart from God.
