Ready To Die
Acts 21:13 (KJV) Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.
Just like yesterday’s look at another verse about the ongoing persecution in Acts. Today we are looking at another verse inspired by God and recorded by the Apostle Paul about the willingness to obey God’s will, even unto death, if that is what He calls us to accomplish for bringing glory and honor to Him.
Let me ask, are you ready to die amid facing extreme oppression if that be the will of God for your life? I bet you swallowed hard after reading that statement, but really, are you ready to die for advancing the gospel of Christ? Though western Christians have not faced this kind of persecution, at any moment, God could change things up and require us to be ready to die at expressing and testifying for the name of Jesus Christ.
Today, as the circumstances around us become more and more hostile to God’s Word and with the mention of His Son Jesus Christ, we must face reality as Christians that serving HIm could require our life in testifying about Him to other souls on this earth. Are you ready to die today like the Apostle Paul was in ancient times for the name of Jesus Christ if circumstances require it?
