Recognize, Confess, and Forsake Sin
Proverbs 28:13 (KJB) He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
It is not enough to recognize sin, ignore it or cover it up and move on with your life.
Ungodly minded people do often recognize the presence of sin. Frequently, they just choose to disregard it and any consequences, choosing to write off any penalties as foolishness and bad karma. The presence of sin in their life bogs them down and gets in the way of success in this world and especially prevents them from sharing the victory with God for all eternity.
A spiritually regenerated person who identifies with God is prompted and prodded about the presence of sin in their life and encouraged to renounce sin and abandon it for agreeing with God about the nature of sin.
Remember, the Apostle Paul who was knocked to the ground the very moment he met with God? He met God, recognized his sin, confessed it before God, and chose to forsake sin following the will of God for his life. Not only did he follow God eagerly, but God showed him great mercy and grace and prospered him, even in the midst of great trials and persecution in this wicked world.
A genuine child of God desires to recognize God, confess personal sin to Him, and forsake sin choosing to follow God’s direction and will in their life. God’s great mercy and grace spiritually prospers them and helps to appease the calling of their flesh aiding in fulfilling the calling of God upon their life despite the circumstances at hand.
