Rejection of God is Nothing New
John 5:45-47 (KJB) Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. 46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. 47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
The people of ancient times are no different than people alive on this earth today. Many people are just too busy and too involved in their own lives to take a moment to pause and consider things of God. Though they hear about God, see evidence of Him etched into this earth, and in ancient times saw with their own eyes various people healed from sickness or even raised from the dead, yet they do not believe in God.
Instead, some choose to hear and receive the words of the accuser, the devil, whose sole purpose is to taunt them and tease as many as he can with his wicked ways. He prattles the souls of those he can easily deceive into following his way rather than God’s will.
In ancient times the Jewish people had Moses who trekked up the mountain and met with God, not once but twice, and who wrote the law on stone tablets for their learning. Later, in history, the people had Jesus Christ alive in the flesh upon this earth preaching the message of God. Not only that, but He healed many who were ill, both of a spiritual and physical nature
None of these things that were heard, or witnessed, or read in God’s Word today can make a difference in those hearts who will choose to reject God. If a heart condition is dark and wicked, then the vision and hearing will only be focused upon the things of this world, and those hearts will personally miss an open opportunity to accept the Truth of God.
