Remember No More
Hebrews 10:15-17 (KJV) Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
Remember is a memory that occurs without effort, or in other words, it is a recollection that comes to mind with little or no effort put forth. It can be like a continual loop playing on and on in our head, and sometimes it is short and sweet!
Again in this verse above, we are reminded of the short memory of God towards confessed sin. Indeed, you understand here that God is not acting as if this acknowledged sin never happened. Instead, God is extending mercy by telling us that His rich grace will treat confessed sin just as if the person never sinned. This is true both then in ancient biblical times and today.
The Lord treats a repentant sinner as if the sin never happened. The truth is that God sees the blood of Jesus Christ applied to the doorpost of our life. However, the devil likes to ignore the blood and remind us of our past repeatedly. Yes, the devil chooses to remember our favorite sin and past habits and continually attempts to use it against us. Yes, the devil knows just what carrot to dangle in front of us in hopes of capturing our attention away from God.
Hold onto the truth that God hears and heals us concerning confessed sin. Not only does He hear our plea, but He remembers it no more. Do not allow the devil to remind you of your sinful past that God remembers no more.
