Remember No More
Jeremiah 31:31-34 (KJV) Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
God spares no words in pointing forward to the new covenant, the New Testament, for Israel and the Gentiles alike, before the completion of God’s Word. Today, we are born in New Testament times in the age of grace and have the Word of God that we can hold in our hands.
Not only that, but God has written His law in our inward parts. This inward writing God speaks of might sound weird, but it is not. This declaration means that each person is born with an innate knowledge of God penned on their heart. Knowing this tidbit of truth allows each person to comprehend the reality of God, despite his or her spiritual stage or circumstance on this earth. God wrote about His presence and power directly on the landscape of this world for every heart to see and apply to their life.
Isn’t it wonderful that no human has any excuse for not knowing nor applying the truths of God to their life, for God has made His power and presence known and established? Even more incredible is knowing that God forgives and forgets sin in humbled hearts forever.
