Riches Tend to Rule the Heart
Matthew 19:23-24 (KJB) Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. 24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
Riches can be but are not always a roadblock to personally knowing and serving God. Money can especially obstruct a man who can provide for his own needs and that of his family with his fat bank account and great financial means. You see, wealth can allow a person to take care of his every need and desire, not leaving God room for His will and work in their life.
Riches can be used to purchase good and moral materials to aid in reaching others to others with kindness and concern and with a Bible can deliver the message of Christ, but no money can never rid any soul of sin and place a man in good spiritual standing with God. Often financial means have the opposite effect of coming between a man and God.
If money always rules your mind and heart, this leaves no room for God to will and to work in your life. This spiritually ill state of the heart can adversely affect your eternal standing with Christ and your future eternal address upon physical death.
