Salvation it is so simple, yet multifaceted. It is more intricate than simply escaping a horrible death in Hell for all eternity. At the point of physical death a saved person’s spirit is immediately escorted by angels and carried unto God’s throne in heaven. The death of an unsaved person transports them immediately into to Hell for an eternity of horrible suffering and pain.
Salvation is not simply waving a magic wand and instantaneously living in a new life in Christ. The plan of salvation is intricate and detailed, encompassing deliverance from sin, peace with God, deliverance from the penalty of sin, and the presence of the Holy Spirit in one’s life. There is nothing magical about salvation. Salvation is a miraculous intervention by a holy Christ into man’s lost sinful natural condition of the heart.
Salvation is not brought about by any works. Man cannot earn a seat in Heaven. Salvation is a gift requiring no work or accomplishments on our part. Salvation is all about a holy God and what He did for us and nothing to do with any works of man. Salvation is not brought about by our good deeds or obedience to laws. Baptism does not bring about salvation or the thief on the cross would have missed out on a heavenly home in paradise with Christ. He accepted salvation by faith while hanging at death’s door and was never baptized. This proves it is never too late to accept this gift of salvation.
Salvation is a work of the Holy Spirit who prods us to accept Him. Our heavenly rewards are built upon our life of faith and obedience in this world. The sooner a person chooses to accept Christ in faith, the more time for him to accumulate treasures and eternal rewards in Heaven. All who are joined to Jesus Christ through faith will be rewarded according to their good works and obedience instead of facing judgment and eternal punishment of Hell where works of hay straw and wood will be burnt up and consumed in the fire.
Salvation is an inward change in a person’s spiritual condition which works its way to the outer shell of each person. Man is spiritually alive the very moment he succumbs to the Holy Spirit’s call or holy invitation to live inside a newly softened and yielding heart. A heart set apart from those who choose to continue in tune with the god of this world. The Holy Spirit sends invitations out to all to gain access into all hearts of those who are willing to open the door of their heart.
The essence of Salvation includes one’s own attorney or advocate, Jesus Christ, who speaks directly with The “Top Righteous Judge” in the Heavenly Supreme Court system pleading our own sinful case and crying upon our behalf.
The utmost characteristic of salvation is its free availability for all. Jesus did not pick and choose to die for only a select few men. Jesus chose to die upon the cross for all. This paramount act of sacrificial love or gift of eternal life cost God the Father His only Son, who stamped out all sin debt and marked it “Paid in Full” for all sinners; past, present, and future. His work on the cross is finished, done, into the future.
The payment or satisfaction of all sin debt would be akin to Jesus not only making the down payment on your house, but going inside the bank and paying your entire mortgage in full, and paying the entire debt of your neighbors, family, friends, and strangers as well.
It is His great sacrificial love which acts or draws, as a magnet, beckoning all to consider His free gift and to accept it freely and simply. There are no individuals, groups, or certain sin, which disqualify any from receiving this free gift of eternal life. There is not an elect group or individuals who have been called and set apart to partake of salvation, exclusive of all other individuals. The gift is free for all who personally make a decision to partake of the spiritual relationship with Jesus Christ.
The only individuals who will not receive the gift of salvation and subsequently eternal life are those who do not accept with faith the blood of Jesus Christ shed for all sin. This is the unpardonable sin. My sins, your sins, and all sin have been covered and cancelled with His sacrificial payment of blood. Indeed, salvation is so simple and freely available to all who have faith. Many men stumble and fall over the simplicity of God’s plan of salvation complicating it with many unnecessary factors and the red tape of divisive strange doctrines.
Many individuals not well grounded in the foundation and scriptural principles of God’s Word get tangled up in a spider’s web of various false belief systems, word definition deviations, and theological charades concerning salvation. Being utterly spiritually deficient and weak causes many to fail miserably. Many miss spending time alone with God in prayer and bible study, fail to compare and apply Truth in their life, and often miss the mark in rightly dividing God’s Word in relation to His plan for salvation..
God’s Word has always been intended to be clear cut and defined, allowing each individual ample opportunity to appropriately interpret it and obediently live the “sold out life.” If living this sacrificial life is impossible, God would not have already accomplished it through His Son, or asked all men to live accordingly as well.
Appearing before His judgment seat at death or at His return, no excuses will suffice, conceal, or camouflage any spiritual ineptness in our understanding of His unpretentious plan of salvation for all. We are all on equal footing at the cross and have been given all we need to live for Him.
For Further Contemplation:
Have you accepted the free gift of salvation in your life? Or are you trying to earn your way in to Heaven’s Holy Sanctuary by attaining your salvation via performances and achievements in this life?
