Satan Desires to Sift as Wheat
Luke 22:31-32 (KJB) And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
Sifting is the process of separating something, like flour, what is fine apart from what is coarse and thick.
So, what does this statement the Lord spoke about satan imply?
“Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat…”
Satan desires to shake a man and stir him up. Doing so separates the “man from the boys”, so to speak. Satan desires to make a man so uncomfortable and anxious. Or to polarize him that he chooses to sit idly or to follow mindlessly after the darkness of god rather than choosing to remain standing strong and stout in the power and presence of God.
Satan always counts on weak and wobbly spiritual men to fall apart when pressured by his brand of evil darkness. A man of God can stand spiritually centered and firm despite any sifting or shaking ploy authored by satan in this world.
