Serve, Rejoice, and Kiss the Son
Psalm 2:11-12 (KJB) Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. 12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
This Psalm mentions three things every child of God should do in serving Him. We are to serve Him with fear and rejoice with trembling. In other words, we should desire to serve God with the utmost respect and reverence for His authority, knowing He is the Kings of Kings and Lord of Lords for God has both great mercy and wrath.
Secondly, a man is to kiss the Son rather than found in opposition to God and subject to His great wrath. Living in spiritual agreement with God reaps spiritual dividends and blessings both now and for all eternity.
You see, personal salvation of the heart is the first step in having a personal relationship with God. This spiritual union or position with God keeps growing, maturing, and becoming better and better. The salvation of God in the heart includes a promise of blessings from the moment a person chooses to trust in God.
When any person chooses to place trust in God blessings flow, serve and rejoice with God in great reverence and fear. Cherish His wonderful mercy and grace, making sure to avoid sin and separation from Him for it only brings wrath, instead enjoy His blessings now and live forever in eternity.
