Serving God is Never Easy but Do It Anyways

1 Corinthians 15:58 (KJB) Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

God never promises us that serving Him will be easy, without problems, and persecution, and perhaps not financially profitable, but He insists that a child of God should stand tall and abound in fruit production all for His glory and honor.

You see, it is not all about us, but about God!

God gave each of us an important spiritual job to do.  If you are like me, you had a “Moses Moment” the minute you realized just what God desired for you to do in His name as you sojourn in this world.

Your mind screams “God, I can’t do that…”

Your heart begins to race at even the thought of completing all that which God has set forth for you to accomplish.  The task seems foreboding, looming even, and at first glance, you have no idea how you will be able to achieve what God has revealed in His plan for your life.

I was stunned by His call for writing upon my life.  I wanted to ignore it!  Or perhaps even run far, far, away like Jonah, but that was not possible for everything I needed was set before me and I had no available excuse in not getting immediately busy.

God says in this scripture verse not only to get it done, whatever your spiritual skill might be but to abound in this work.  Unlike a secular job where you work to receive a stipend, your labor for things of God is never in vain even if you do not see or receive immediate results.  You see, God can take what we do for Him and cause it to spring forward according to His timing, will, and way.  The prospering is not up to us.  It does not depend upon our personality, our skills (or lack thereof), our persuasion, or our passion for a project or plan for God can take us from where we are today and what we are able to do in obedience to Him and multiply its effects according to His perfect plan for our life.

Though I do not always get the grammar just right, or perhaps a word or two are spelled wrong, or sentences run together; God can use my writing to reach hearts with His message.  The only thing He asks of me is to be obedient to His calling on my life for He will take care of the rest!  Whether my writing flows perfectly or not, God can use it to sow seeds and encouragement in hearts sensitive to Him.  God has a calling for your life too.
