Some Bread is Spoiled

Matthew 16:11-12 (KJB) How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees? 12 Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

Jesus is speaking in these scripture verses about the presence of incorrect doctrine.  The leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees was incorrect as measured against the spiritual bedrock of the Truth of God.

God’s Word, which today we can hold in our hands today, contains the Truth.  It is the only starting point in declaring what is false doctrine.

In ancient biblical times, mankind did not have a finished or printed Bible but had access to hearing God’s Word read by priests, teachers, and scribes.  The leaven of the Pharisees was their strict intent in keeping every jot and tittle of God’s law but lax in the grace of God failing to show kindness and love towards others in exposing the truth.  Often their own personal version of Truth was riddled with thoughts, philosophy, and opinions of man, just like many false teachings and biblical versions comprised today.   The genuine Word of God does not change as God stated in Hebrews 13:8.

The truth of God is always levied as a divine present unto man.  It is meant to be given within the context of love, not hate, to aide a person in accepting His Truth and in the maturing of all things concerning God.

There is always “spoiled bread,” or rotten doctrine fermenting and working in the hearts and mind of many in this world just as it was present in ancient biblical times.  However, a true child of God can discern spoiled from the Truth of God through his careful study and evaluation.

In ancient biblical times, truths of God were spoken by men before they were divinely recorded by the power of God, for His preservation throughout time for every generation.  Today we have God’s Word in its entirety for our personal reading and study.  However, despite the wide availability, there are many false doctrines floating about to spiritually trip a biblically unintelligent person choosing to walk spiritually unaware in this dark and desperate world.
