Sometimes A Person Is Just Tired Of The Consequences

2 Corinthians 7:10 (KJV) For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

The spiritual state of many lost and wayward hearts is in a sad state of affairs.  The truth is that many soon grow weary of disadvantaged circumstances and putting up with unintended consequences of their choices; however, these same people do not attempt to move any closer to God.  In other words, they are just tired of being tired.  Fed up with the status quo, but not many are willing to make any necessary life changes.

Please do not let this above description be an honest depiction of your life.  Genuine godly sorrow means the difference between a life with God forever and facing death outside of fellowship with God forever.  Every child of God must learn to discern the difference between godly sorrow and facing unhappiness about the circumstances and consequences at work in their life.

The spiritual bottom line:  godly sorrow leads to sincere repentance and eternal bliss inside sweet fellowship with God.  Distress about our affairs’ apart from fellowship with God leads to death and no connection with God forever.
