Sorrowful but Rejoicing
2 Corinthians 6:10 (KJB) As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.
Only a genuine child of God can understand and apply the truths found in this verse. How is it possible for a man to sorrow, yet at the same time rejoice? Be poor, yet enjoying many riches? To have little or nothing and yet have everything?
To lost hearts, this verse seems to contradict itself. However, to hearts who personally know and serve God, these words are not challenging but make complete sense right out of the box. That is how God’s Word works inside the hearts and minds of His children. God brings spiritual understanding and an ability to apply His truths and decrees.
A child of God is rejoicing about His eternal heart, but grief-stricken about the many lost spiritual hearts in this world.
A child of God could be financially poor in this world, but eternally rich in His personal relationship and witness of God at work in his life.
A child of God could have little or nothing of material value in this world but possesses of all things inside His a personal relationship with Christ.
To a lost heart, things of God make no spiritual sense. However, to every sincere child of God, His Word is a beautiful spiritual balm and a pricking goad to their maturing soul and mind as they sojourn in this world.
