Sound Doctrine Apologetics
Titus 1:9 (KJB) Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
A faithful man of God is to be first taught biblical doctrine. Secondly, he is to employ seeds of this doctrine into action for convincing skeptics about the truth of God. Convincing a man about the truths of God, however, is not in the power of a man’s word, or in cleverly articulating his own philosophy about God, it can be found only inside the supernatural power of God.
The Bible tells us in Hebrews 4:12 that the awesome and unlimited power of God is at work in this world by both properly applying His truths to our own life in conjunction with speaking His Word to others, that seeds of His message can and will work to change lives. The Bible tells us that His Word will never return void for His power will always produce the spiritual results that God intends in the hearts of mankind.
Yes, the supernatural eternal power is wholly contained in His Word and not an inkling of eternal spiritual power or merit is found in our own actions or choice of words apart from the presence of God.
A man who ridicules and reasons away things of God can be eternally persuaded about the truth of God through the presence and power of God working in this world. It is His power present in a man or woman of God that can initiate an eternal work in lost and desperate hearts.
