Special Miracles Sought After
Acts 19:11-12 (KJB) And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: 12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.
God used the Apostle Paul as a vessel of service in bringing miracles of healing to many. This healing, both of a physical and spiritual nature, was so sought after that people followed Paul and handed him handkerchiefs and tattered pieces of clothing in hopes of receiving healing for their loved ones at home in bed too sick to travel. An ill person did not even have to be in Paul’s presence for this power to be harnessed through these pieces of cloth and released upon the sick person in their own home.
God worked many mighty miracles through the Apostle Paul in this fashion as family and friends would gather around him in hopes healing would come to an ill family member or friend lying near death at home. Many health issues, then and today, likely stem from disobedience to God and the presence of demonic spirits.
Certainly, you understand that this healing mentioned in the book of Acts was a special gift Paul was able to use at this time in which he lived. Though God does still heal, this kind of healing is no longer Offered as a gift, as in ancient biblical times. This gift was before the New Testament was complete making some gifts no longer necessary.
God is a God of mighty healing in biblical times and today. Though there are no longer such things as gifts of healing, as Paul was used for in this time of history, God does still heal both physically and spiritually ill hearts.
