Spiritual Antidote for Demons

Matthew 8:16-17 (KJB)   When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:  17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

There are important spiritual truths in this verse.

The first truth is that evening had come in the setting of this verse.  Darkness draws out unfavorable elements.  It is when evil comes out to play cleverly cloaked to masquerade in this world.

Evil always avoids the presence of light.  The cover of darkness is the time for wicked work of the devil.

The evil spoken of in this verse is demon possession.  Demon possession is real.  It is when a dark spirit has spiritual control of an individual’s darkened heart.  An evil spirit can gain control of a hardened heart because the righteousness of God is not found at work inside it.

If God dwells inside a person’s softened heart the heart is spiritually safe and secure, sealed off from the presence of demon spirits.  If God has been invited to dwell in a softened heart, there is no possibility for that person’s heart to be demon possessed.

Lastly, the presence of demon spirits are never a match for the unlimited supernatural healing power and presence of God.  God can cast out evil spirits through His spoken Word.

Did you know that evil can manifest itself as both physical and spiritual sickness into the lives of mankind?

So, what does all this mean for you and I?  If we are saved, then evil spirits cannot ever dwell inside our heart.

Secondly, for those possessed by a demon spirit the spoken Word of God, or the quoting of scripture, (Hebrews 4:13) along with having the “spiritual tools” listed in Ephesians chapter six which is the “spiritual antidote” for eradicating evil spirits.

However, evil spirits are treacherous and not something that the lay man should attempt to exterminate himself apart from an intimate knowledge of scripture, prayer and counsel with other godly men.

Spiritually sick individuals were brought to Jesus in ancient biblical time for His spiritual intervention and healing for He is the Great Physician.  His power and presence work against demon possession in spiritual ill hearts.  Quoting scripture is application of God’s Word (Jesus Christ) to heal spiritual ills.
