Spiritual Pain Relief
Psalm 51:8 (KJB) Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
David was inspired to record this verse in lamenting about the pain of his own sin. He was spiritually busy beseeching God about removing the uncomfortable nature of his sin. David recognized his brokenness before God. He understood that only God could places the spiritually scattered pieces of him back together again.
Perhaps this sin had been fun for a while, but now it was draining David of his joy. This sin had caused him to feel both physical and spiritual hurt and spark a desire for God to come and release David from this suffering.
David had come to the end of himself and was desiring the goodness and blessings of God to work and will in his life.
Is joy flooding in your life and pointing back to God? Or are you missing the blessings of God because the nature of sin is at work in your life? God desires His children be abounding with joy rather than harboring the pain of sin which blocks vital spiritual communion with God.
God is the great “Spiritual Pain Reliever!”
