Spiritual Profit is Endless
Mark 8:36-38 (KJB) For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? 37 Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? 38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
The world has many limits and a ceiling that cannot be breached. Gaining the whole world can only perhaps profit a man while he is physically alive, but often a man who has everything, but the presence of God, is most miserable. A man can attain wealth, houses, a fat bank account, and many fun toys. However, none of these things will follow him in death as his earthly physical body wears out and he perishes.
When a person dies his physical body goes to the ground. His spiritual body, however, returns to God. This is the part that cannot be overlooked or forgotten. No matter whether a man chooses to acknowledge and honor God as he dwells in this world his spirit will return unto God in the eternal realm.
Yes, every person saved or lost, their spirit will return unto their maker, the Creator who is God, upon their physical death. A man will either return to his maker in spiritual agreement to enjoy spiritual fellowship with Him forever. Or a man will return in spiritual opposition to things of God and endure spiritual agony forever not having spiritual fellowship with Him.
There is unbeatable perpetual profit in knowing and agreeing with the holy estimations of God. There is eternal punishment in disagreeing with the nature and character of God in this world and forevermore. A man can gain everything there is to have in this world but without the divine presence of God, he will suffer endlessly in eternity.
